How to convert ICO to PDF
Add your ICO images
Drag the images onto the upload area or browse for them. Each image becomes one page, and you can add up to 50 of them.
Choose the page size and order
Pick A4, Letter or the image size, set the orientation and margin, and arrange the pages with the arrow buttons.
Create the PDF and download it
Press “Create PDF”. The PDF is built in your browser and never leaves your device; download it with one click.
What is preserved?
Kept
- The image quality: the picture is stored in the PDF without loss
- The correct photo orientation (EXIF orientation is applied)
- The picture's proportions
Changed
- Each image becomes one page. On A4 and Letter it is scaled to fit the page without stretching and centered; in the image-size option the page matches the picture
- When the picture's shape differs from the page, empty space remains around it
Not carried over
- EXIF, location and camera data are not added to the PDF
- Transparency: transparent areas show the white page
- The smaller sizes inside the ICO file: only the largest size becomes the page
- Selectable text: text inside a picture stays a picture, there is no text recognition
When to use it
Document a set of program icons
When handing over a software project or brand assets, a PDF with one page per icon gives reviewers a quick overview without special viewers.
Print icons for a design review
Printing the icons, one per page, makes it easy to compare details and leave handwritten notes during a review meeting.
Limitations to know
- Up to 50 images in one PDF and up to 50 MB per image.
- Very large pictures depend on your device memory and may fail to be added; reduce their size first with the resize tool.
- In the image-size option a page can be at most 200 inches (14,400 points) on a side; larger pictures are scaled down.
About the formats
What is ICO?
ICO is an icon format that stores several square sizes (for example 16, 32 and 48 pixels) in a single file. It is used for Windows icons and for a website's favicon.ico; when a browser needs a small tab icon it picks the matching size from the file. It supports transparency, but cannot be larger than 256 × 256 pixels.
What is PDF?
PDF is a document format that looks the same on every device and in print. A page can contain text, vector graphics and images, and a file can have many pages. Converting PDF pages to images turns each page into a flat picture you can place on a website or in a design, while converting images to PDF packs pictures into pages of one document.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my icon look tiny on an A4 page?
Icons are usually 256 pixels or less, which covers only a small part of a printed page. Choose Image size to make each page the size of the icon instead.
Are all sizes inside the ICO added as pages?
No. One ICO gives one page, using its largest image.
Will enlarging the icon on the page make it blurry?
Yes, a small icon stretched across a large page loses sharpness. Keep a margin or use Image size so the icon stays near its real size.
Is converting ICO to PDF free?
Yes, completely free. There is no account, subscription or watermark; just add your files and convert them.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is created in your browser and your images never leave your device, so the waiting time depends on the number and size of the images and on your device. Location and camera data are not added to the PDF.
