DOC to PDF Converter
To convert a DOC file to PDF, upload the .doc and choose PDF. Our server renders it directly with LibreOffice's PDF export, so page layout, headers and footers, tables, images and list numbering carry over page by page. If a font used in the document is not installed on our server, a similar font is substituted, which can shift some line and page breaks.

When to use it
Sharing with people who do not have Word
A PDF looks the same on every device, so you can send an old .doc document without worrying which program the recipient uses. Anyone with a PDF viewer can read and print it exactly as laid out.
Fixed copies for applications and archives
Application portals and institutions usually ask for PDF. Converting CVs, letters or reports built on old .doc templates gives you a print-ready copy whose layout will not change when someone else opens it.
Limitations to know
- Password-protected or corrupted .doc files cannot be read.
- Maximum file size is 100 MB.
About the formats
What is DOC?
DOC is the binary document format that was the default in Microsoft Word 97 through 2003. It stores text, formatting, tables and images in a single proprietary structure. DOCX replaced it in 2007, but DOC is still used because of older Office installations, some organisational systems and upload portals that only accept .doc. Current versions of Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs can open DOC files; DOCX is the better choice for new documents.
What is PDF?
PDF (Portable Document Format) is a fixed-layout document format created by Adobe and standardised as ISO 32000. Every piece of text, image and line is stored with its position on the page, so a PDF looks the same on every device and prints reliably. The trade-off is editing: a PDF stores positions on a page, not paragraphs and tables. Scanned PDFs contain only page images and need OCR before any text can be extracted.
Frequently asked questions
Will my fonts look the same in the PDF?
If the font used in your document is installed on our server, it is used in the PDF. If not, it is replaced with a font of similar metrics, so line and page breaks may differ slightly from the original. If you rely on corporate or unusual fonts, check the result before sending it.
Is there an intermediate step in DOC to PDF conversion?
No. The .doc file is not reduced to HTML or another in-between format; LibreOffice exports it straight to PDF. That is why headers, footers, table borders, image positions and list numbering survive better than with converters that route documents through HTML.
Can I edit the PDF afterwards?
PDF is designed for sharing and printing, not editing. The cleanest way to make changes is to edit the original .doc and convert it again. If the PDF is all you have left, our PDF to Word converter can help, although tables come back as paragraphs in that direction.
Is converting DOC to PDF free?
Yes, completely free. There is no account, subscription or watermark — just upload your file and convert it.
Is my file safe and when is it deleted?
Your file is transferred over HTTPS and stored on our server under a random code. The upload and the output are permanently deleted within 30 minutes, and the download link only works for whoever holds your unique code.
