HEIC to JPG Converter
To convert HEIC to JPG, add the photos from your iPhone, keep JPG selected and press Convert. HEIC is the format iPhones use by default, and many programs, websites and forms still cannot open it. - Uploaded securely, deleted within 30 minutes
- Up to 50 MB per file
Only the main picture is converted; extra data stored in the file, such as a Live Photo clip or depth map, is not carried over.
Your file is uploaded to our servers over a secure (HTTPS) connection, converted there and permanently deleted within 30 minutes at the latest. Files are converted one after another.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
Add your HEIC files
Drag the files onto the upload area or browse for them; you can add several files and they are converted one after another.
Keep JPG as the output
JPG is already selected. The quality slider starts at 100%; lower it if you want a smaller file.
Convert and download
Press “Convert”. Each file is uploaded to our servers, converted and deleted within 30 minutes at the latest; download the results one by one or as a ZIP.
What is preserved?
Kept
- The image resolution (pixel dimensions)
- The correct photo orientation (EXIF orientation is applied)
- Colors (adapted to sRGB)
Changed
- JPG is a lossy format: lower quality means a smaller file but less fine detail
Not carried over
- Transparency: JPG does not support it, so transparent areas are filled with white
- EXIF, location and camera data: left out of the output for privacy
- Extras stored in the HEIC file, such as a Live Photo clip or a depth map: only the main picture is converted
When to use it
Share iPhone photos with anyone
Many Windows PCs, older Android phones, e-mail programs and photo printers cannot open HEIC. A JPG opens everywhere, so converting before you send avoids “unsupported file” replies.
Upload to forms and marketplaces
Application portals, online shops and government forms often accept only JPG or PNG. Convert the photo first, then upload the result.
Limitations to know
- Up to 50 MB and about 100 megapixels per file.
- The file is uploaded to our servers and deleted within 30 minutes at the latest; several files are converted one after another.
About the formats
What is HEIC?
HEIC (also called HEIF) is the photo format that iPhones and many recent cameras use by default. It stores photos in about half the space of a JPG at similar quality and supports transparency and several images in one file. Web browsers and many programs cannot open it, which is why HEIC photos are usually converted to JPG, PNG or WebP before they are shared.
What is JPG?
JPG (JPEG) is the most widely used photo format. It uses lossy compression: detail the eye notices least is discarded to make files small, and the quality setting trades size against detail. JPG does not support transparency and is not ideal for text or sharp-edged graphics, but nearly every device, app and website opens it.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not open my iPhone photos on my computer?
Since iOS 11 iPhones save photos as HEIC, which makes files roughly half the size of a JPG. Not every system has the software to read it, so converting to JPG gives you a file that opens in any program.
Does converting HEIC to JPG reduce the quality?
JPG is lossy, so a little detail is lost, but at the default 100% quality the difference is very hard to see. Expect the JPG to be larger than the HEIC, because HEIC compresses more efficiently.
Are the location and date of my photo kept?
The pixels and the correct orientation are kept. EXIF data such as GPS location and camera details is not added to the JPG, which is handy when you share the photo publicly.
Can I convert many HEIC photos at once?
Yes. Add up to 20 files; they are converted one after another, and you can download them one by one or as a single ZIP.
Is converting HEIC to JPG free?
Yes, completely free. There is no account, subscription or watermark; just add your files and convert them.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
Yes. This conversion runs on our servers, so your file is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, converted there and permanently deleted within 30 minutes at the latest. It is stored under a random code instead of its name, and processing is fully automated. EXIF and location data are not added to the output.
